Cheese Please Cutouts

Cheese Please Cutouts

Use cookie cutters on cheese slices to cut out shapes such as leafs, pumpkins, turkeys, etc. that related to a Fall season theme.  Serve these along with a few crackers and you have a fun nutritious snack.

Use Fall Leaves and use a theme that says, "FALL-ing for Jesus"
Use Pumpkins and use a theme that says, "Harvesting For God"
Use Turkeys and use a theme that says, Thankful For God"
Come up with your own theme using different cookies cutters.

Save those cheese scraps to use in other recipes such as cheese quesadillas.  These are made from spreading salsa on a whole wheat flour tortilla, sprinkling on shredded cheese and topping with another tortilla.  Heat until the cheese melts.  Cut into wedges and serve warm.  Yum!

Jesus Holy Spirit Cupcakes

Jesus Holy Spirit Cupcakes
Cupcake Template

Just print the template out and cut them out. Laminate if you want. Tape a toothpick to the back of the picture and stick down in cupcakes. These would make a fun great snack for kids when teaching on a lesson on the Holy Spirit.

You can also print these on peel and stick paper and stick to ziplock bags filled with snacks or brown lunch bags. Print on magnet paper and you got yourself a neat magnet for the fridge. You could make a Holy Spirit wreath by cutting the middle out of a paper plate and taping the pictures all around the paper plate. Add a ribbon to hang up. Tape to popsicle sticks or anything you can think of. Have fun!

Cupcake Template

Just print this template out and cut out and tape a toothpick to the back of the picture and stick down in cupcakes. You could laminate these or you could print them on card stock. Regular printing paper works fine too because that is what I use all the time. If you laminate them then you could keep them and use them for other times later on down the road.

Smurf Cake Jesus Is The Way

Smurf Cake "Jesus is the way!"

You might be wondering why in the world did I make a smurf cake. Well I don't know either, lol. I got bored and thought it would be cute for the kids to eat. I found a cute smurf clipart picture online and just blew it up in adobe and made a little saying to go with it that says, Jesus is the way!"  I cut them out once I printed it and laminated it.

This is defineltly not the best cake I have ever made in my life.  This was a throw together cake ordeal. Running out of icing didn't help anything either. That explains the plain cake middle. Apparently when I bought icing at the store I bought two half sized icings. I didn't even know those existed. Oh well, I made it work the best I could.

(I really don't think the kids will mind, do you?) haha

Fall Tree With Scarecrow

Fall Tree With Scarecrow

This is just a limb of a tree that was chopped down from outside. I am waiting on the leaves to finish dying and fall off. It will look more like a fall tree after the leaves all fall off. The kids have made little crafts in class and hung their God Made Pumpkins Toilet Paper Rolls and Candy Corn Bible's up. I just let the kids punch a hole in the craft and run some yarn through it and they hung it up. There is a stuffed scarecrow laying in front of the tree.

Fall Bulletin Board for Church

GOD'S PUMPKIN PATCH BULLETIN BOARD
This is a bulletin board that I put up that has a yellow background and some fall leaves for trim. I just stapled pumpkins all over the board and added the words, "God's Pumpkin Patch" to the top.  You could also write the kids names on the pumpkins if you want. I hung fall leaves from the ceiling too.

 Harvesting For God Bulletin Board
This bulletin board has a yellow background with cute pictures of scarecrows, apples, corn, sunflowers, squirrels, pumpkins, etc. I trimmed this out in fall leaves also. I spelled out the words, "Harvestin' For God" on the bulletin board. There is also fall leaves and small fold out tissue pumpkins hanging above the board.

 Fall-ing For God Bulletin Board

This has a yellow background with black trim around it and is covered with fall stuff. I added two trees on each end and filled the center with pumpkins, apples, a hay stalk, corn, and other fall things. I spelled out the words "Fall-ing For God" on the board.

Scarecrow Hair Soup

Scarecrow Hair Soup

1 Large Pumpkin
Chicken Noodle Soup- (Can or homemade)
Scarecrow Sign Template -(at the bottom of page)
Scarecrow Hat, Hair and Face (Got mine from Oriental Trading)
Bamboo Skewer- to hold sign up
Hot Glue Gun

First things first is cut the top out of the pumpkin and gut him. Wash him up really good. Give it a good bath in the sink. Then plug your hot glue gun in to get it nice and hot so you can put it to use. You will want to glue a scarecrow face to the front of the pumpkin. You can do your own or you can buy one that is already put together for you. I bought mine from Oriental Trading. I just hot glued the hat with little hay pieces on. Then I added the eyes, nose, mouth and little scarf.

Print the scarecrow sign template that we. You will want to laminate this sign if you can or use card stock. Cut the sign out and lay aside. Now grab your bamboo skewer and position it in the pumpkin. Now grab your hot glue gun and drizzle the hot glue down the skewer. Quickly grab your sign and attach it to the stick.

Next you will want to cook some chicken noodle soup. You can make it homemade or you can buy it in a can. Which ever you prefer. You will just pour the soup into the pumpkin. The noodles are suppose to resemble the scarecrow hair-hence the scarecrow hair soup name. If you are taking this for Children's Church or Sunday school you might want to wait on pouring the soup in the pumpkin. I am going to warm the soup up at Church in the microwave and then pour it in the pumpkin. This way it's easier to transport in the car on your way there. If you want you could line the pumpkin with some tinfoil before you pour the soup in.

I came up with this snack for the kids to go along with a fall lesson I am doing. Teach the kids about the scripture in Matthew 9:37-38 - Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Pumpkin Plant Stake

What a fun idea for the kids to do for the parents that have potted plants. This is a picture of a little pumpkin carrying his Bible. The words say, "Just like this plant needs water, your soul needs the Word of God.   We need to teach our children that the Bible is very important and not something that should just lay somewhere gathering dust on a shelf. Some people are so protective of their Bibles that they lay it somewhere out of reach so it will never get picked up. The Bible is your sword. You need that word to protect you, encourage you, help you, and guide you.

A plant needs water to live. If you do not feed it water, it will die. There is no way around it. Water is what gives it life. God made it that way. We are just like plants. We need the Bible in us everyday so we do not die. The devil can come against you and you are not able to stand against him if you do not know what that word says. You need the word at times to lift you up. God's written word will nourish your soul and fed you what you need just when you need it. It is a very powerful snack...lol..

Parents need to make sure that their children are reading the Bible. I know we all get busy in our everyday lives and it seems to get away from us but we really have to make sure that we are training up the little ones right. Children need to know that God loves them and that the Bible can help them through their times of stress, trouble, grief, or if they need to encourage someone else. The Bible is our instruction manuel to help save lost souls. Saving souls is not just for the pastor...

Here is the printable Pumpkin plant Stake template below.
Print cut out and attach to a very large popsicle stick. Laminate if you want. Stick down in potted plant.

Candy Corn Holding Bible Template

If you like candy corn then you will really like these candy corn that are holding Bibles up. Use these candy corn templates for many different things. You can print them out and cut them out by just cutting around the whole picture (You do not have to cut on the lines. Just cut around the form. I hope I am making sense)

Use them for bulletin boards by laminating them. You could print them on peel and stick paper and add them to jars, notebooks for kids, scrap-booking, stickers for kids, cups filled with treats or ziplock bags filled with treats, paper lunch bags or anything else you can think of. Attach them to popsicle sticks for puppets, or use the sticks in a fall decoration for your table.

You could also print them out on card-stock and laminate and cut around the picture and hang them from a fall tree for decoration. Just go outside or in the words and find a large dead stick tree. One that has plenty of dead branches. Break it off and bring it to your class. Punch holes in the laminated candy corn and put yarn or string through it and tie to the branches. These little candy corn men would look adorable hanging from the fall tree in your classroom. Let the kids know that reading the Bible is very important.

Fall Tree Idea

Fall is arriving and what would be better than an actual Fall Tree in your Children's Church room? I found this fantastic idea from The Richest Of Fare Blog by Julie.  Read more on the tree at her blog.

You could have the kids cut small pumpkin templates out and write the words "Harvesting For God" on the front with their name. You could even make the pumpkin bigger and add just their face to the middle of the pumpkin and add those words. I think this a fabulous idea for a classroom.

For Fall Lessons, Crafts, Recipes, Puzzles, Templates and more check out Church House Collection.

Pumpkin Dinner

  • 1 Large Pumpkin
  • Food To Fill Pumpkin (Macaroni and Cheese, Ravioli, Chicken Noodle Soup, Turkey and Stuffing)
  • Knife -To cut pumpkin top off
  • Spoon - To scoop out pumpkin

Cut the top off a pumpkin. Scoop out all the pumpkin insides. Wash the pumpkin out real good. Scrub it with a clean scrubbie to get everything out of it.

Fill the pumpkin up with your cooked food of choice. You could open cans of chicken noodle soup and pour into the pumpkin and scoop it out for the kids in Sunday school for a snack. You could fill it with macaroni and cheese, ravioli, or whatever else you think might sound good to the kids.

Carve the words, "Harvesting For God" on the front of the pumpkin with the end of a spoon. You just want to take the skin color off so it reveals the other color under the skin.

You could take this for a Church dinner and just fill it up with Stuffing as a side dish. Add turkey to it if you want turkey and dressing.

We have more Fall Stuff for Kids.
